Wine Cellars

1980
Our first wine cellar is at Bastonaca, near Pedalino (RG). Around there are our vineyards with, in the clear days, the top of the Etna, on the horizon. Here COS plan was born, in 1980. Today, in these ancient locals, projected in order to receive all the barrels and our production, protected from the sunlight, we imbottled approximately 150.000 bottles per year. The winery is open and there is possibility to visit it only on reservation. Inside, the tasting-room welcomes about 60 persons.

2003
One of the most ancient and majestic rural residence, around Vittoria, is the great COS 's home, with offices, tasting-rooms, accomodations for the hosts, a comfortable kitchen to accept more than 100 persons, large parkings for cars and bus. Next to the house, there is a long tree-lined walk among the vineyards. On the back, the architects, Cilia and Occhipinti, wanted to design and make a great and not simple maze with walls of bushes, for lovers of the kind. The country-house, situated in locality Fontane, has constituted the background of the CONTRADE labels, Nero d'Avola harvested from the adjacent vineyards.

2008
One of our goals is to renovate another ancient rural recidence togheter with the new wine cellar, where is possible to see the amphora's room (we have more then 140 aphoras with a capacity of 400 litres each), one of the bigger in the world. The COS project it's now positioned in this new building, open to the public.
