There are grapes, always used for the mixing of wines, which brought good luck to a lot of wines of the North Italy and beyond the Alps, giving the power of the sun. However nobody is so stupid "to blend" its wine with a product which is not more than good! Nero d'Avola is one of these vines. And it was able to find its role as wine protagonist on the world-wide market, like appreciated wine for their typicalness and oneness, thanks to companies as COS. The wine obtained from Nero d'Avola, in fact, has not only a good colour, high body and alcoholic degree, perfect caracthers for a blend, but it also has a good acidity, plenty of tannins, extraordinary longevity and remarkable complexity and nobility of scents and flavours.
All that, naturally, in the vineyards rappresents a respect for the traditions, while in the wine cellar, modern tecnologies and competence. Native of Sicily, Nero d'Avola has medium-large bunch, with medium berry, slightly ellipsoidal and red bluish intense color.
Frappato di Vittoria is a red wine, typical just of the area around Ragusa. With good sugar and acidity, but low productive ability, it gives perfumed and fragrant wines, very agreeable and with very topical flavor. The bunch is pyramidal, very compact, with a medium and spheric berry. The skin, of grey red bluish colur.
The other vines which support the Nero d'Avola in ours production are Frappato, Insolia, Grecanico Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
