Cerasuolo di Vttoria is a red wine which is produced in a large area around Ragusa and in part in the provinces of Caltanissetta and Catania. It is a zone with an ancient wine- producing vocation how it is testify a number of documents also of III century b.C. However the birth of the actual Cerasuolo di Vittoria happened in 1606; in fact the founder of the town gave one hectar of land to each farmer on condition that they cultivated another one to plant with vines. Instead in 1933, in occasion of the Extension market of Siena, it happened that the Cerasuolo was introduced for the first time on the national trade. It is a blend of not more than 60% of Nero d'Avola and not less than 40% of Frappato di Vittoria with eventual added of Grosso Nero and/or Nerello mascalese for a maximum of 10%
