Locanda COS
The COS Locanda is a contribution by Giambattista Cilia and Giusto Occhipinti, both owners of the estate, to the notorius hospitality that Sicily has always had to the regards of its guests.
The estate is residence of the prestigious agricultural firm COS and it is certainly one of the most beautiful rural building of Vittoria territory.
Builded in the ninenteenth century, the central palace and the wine-cellar lean out in the internal court, as the dialectal expression of arabic origin “baglio”.
The Locanda is been carefully reinstructured and today represents the most prestigious place of production of the new-born DOCG Cerasuolo di Vittoria.
Surrounded of vineyards of Nero d’Avola and Frappato of Vittoria, the structure gives hospitality to five dependances obtained from the palace’s rooms and from the old lodgings of the day-labourers.
COS and its Locanda are locaded 10 km. Away from Vittoria, 250 mt. above the sea level, between the Iblei Monts and the Mediteranean Sea.
The vineyards, the alley, the garden, the labirint, the stillness of the Sicilian coutryside, the view on the sunset are only a few of the fashionable elements that hypnotize.
The hot waters of the Africa Sea or the “Barocco” of the small towns of Ragusa, Ibla, Modica o Scicli on the Iblei Monts and UNESCO Humanitary Territory, are just 15 minutes away by car.
Etna, the highest Volcano in Europe, and yet Taormina, Siracuse, the lovely Temple Valley of Agrigento, the still untouched city of Morgantina or the amazing mosaics of Villa del Casale are just one hour away by car.
